The Belvedere: five generations of perceptive and tenacious women (1948 to this day)
The second world war and the death of Maria stopped the development of the hotel which, during those difficult years, was managed by Antonietta, one of Maria’s daughters, and her husband Oreste Sampietro.

Progress resumed with the next generation, the third. Lucia, daughter of Antonietta, and her husband, Luciano Martinelli, took control of the Belvedere in 1955 and started extensive restoration and renewal works to modernize the hotel and make it more stylish. A swimming pool and a solarium were added and the Belvedere got ready to accommodate a more exclusive clientele.

In the 1980s, the fourth generation stepped in: Lucia’s daughter, Tiziana, with her husband Mauro Manoni, engineer. Thanks to the expertise and the good taste of Mauro, the passion and the commitment of Tiziana, the Belvedere became even bigger and more modern in terms of services and equipment. The restaurant-terrace, the park and the grounds were widened and refurbished. In 1999 Mauro died in a tragic accident.
Tiziana continues to work along the lines defined with Mauro, and she is not alone: her daughter Giulia is growing up and is getting ready to be the fifth generation of bold, intelligent, perceptive and tenacious women to lead the Belvedere.
