The hamlet of Borgo is one of the first inhabited centers of Bellagio and the historical center of the town. The path from Pescallo to Borgo is called Salita Cappuccini and, while it’s not a path usually taken by tourists, it is beautifully quiet and attractive.
To get to Salita Cappuccini you cross the center of Pescallo, and then you reach the steep stairs. If you look back you have one of the best views of this part of the lake. The path passes by the gardens of the Rockefeller Foundation - an Italian villa that’s launched some of the world’s great philanthropic programs - and takes you to Borgo’s distinct alleyways and pastel buildings.
